Calvert School – Institute for Leadership & Purpose: Creating a Culture of Dignity
April 7, 2022 - April 8, 2022

Rosalind Wiseman will provide an informed approach to creating a culture of dignity in school communities. As young people navigate a constantly changing educational environment, we know a few things are certain, supportive relationships and social skills are critical to their emotional well-being. But these skills are not “soft skills;” they are essential for young people to engage in education, manage emotions and become responsible and positive members of families and communities.
Rosalind will work with students and students to best understand how they see themselves/their students’ social dynamics and how they impact the academic engagement and school experience/sense of belonging in their classes. She will give teachers ways, no matter what they teach, the ability to strengthen their skills in these areas. She will work to help support and empower students to lean into the notion of leadership – leadership as approachable and available to all students in the community.
Rosalind will speak with parents on exploring proven ways to cultivate stronger relationships, especially during times of conflict, with their children. She will discuss:
- Ways to build and preserve better boundaries
- Strategies to support yourself when your emotions are taking over
- Ways to successfully navigate conflict
