Webinar – Friendships: How to Define and Navigate Them

January 26 @ 4:00 pm - 5:15 pm EST

How do roles and group dynamics complicate the world of friendship?

Building, navigating, and maintaining friendships are essential skills to develop. Friendships are fundamental; they allow a young person to feel connected to others and to process the experience of growing up. This webinar will show the connection between loyalty, personal boundaries, and friendship groups, while providing activities to easily use with the students you work with. By defining loyalty and discussing personal boundaries you provide opportunities for young people to navigate friendship groups with more confidence and understanding.

It can often be hard for us to remember how we felt when we were at the age of the young people we work with. Reminding ourselves how we define friendship, as well as reflecting on our own ups and downs with friendships when we were younger, is impactful. It empowers us to work with youth in a way that builds relationships with open communication and support.

This presentation will provide:

  • An opportunity to define friendship for us and the young people we work with
  • A critical look at roles within a friend group
  • Practical activities to help young people recognize the positives and negatives of group dynamics

This webinar will be hosted by Carey Goldstein.  You can register here.
